Explore the origins of diseases
The INCEPTION program collaborates with the Fondation La Main à la Pâte (also known as LAMAP) to offer free educational content to teachers. The goal of this project is to explore and help future generations understand our personal susceptibility to developing diseases. In a much simpler way: why does one individual develop a disease while another individual would not develop it? Through this adventure of curiosity, young students will question the veracity of information and how the scientific method can help obtain valuable and reliable information.
During the webinar, our two guest speakers will be:
Nicolas Rascovan heads the Microbial Paleogenomics Unit at the Institut Pasteur in Paris. His team uses ancient DNA to study the history of microbes and past human populations.
Mathieu Farina educational project manager at the La Main à la Pâte Foundation. He produced the resource “At the origins of diseases”
